workin my little butt off

it's been a busy weekend so far! i had my first day at lacis and somehow forgot to take a break and left later than i planned...it was just too much fun. i was definitely nervous though, and when i get nervous i turn into an airhead...not figuring out how to refill the steamer and such. but just being able to touch all that buttery 1930's silk charmeuse was amazing. i worked on taking the metal off of this BEAUTIFUL cotton tulle edwardian dress with little hand embroidered  bows so that we can put it down to soak. i wish i could take photos. oh and did i mention they let me sit down and do bobbin lace for my last hour? and the bobbins were already wound? so much fun!

in other news, i finally finished two necklaces for the craft fair and i'm pretty happy with them.

weaving the chain into the lace was my friend's idea...so i can't quite take credit for that little bit of ingenuity.

also, my friend briana is coming on wednesday to model for me so i can get some good photos outside of my bathroom mirror

and this is what i had for dinner...because the weather in oakland is perfect for a summer salad and a glass of white wine. the recipe is from smitten kitchen (love her)
